GLIDING BARNACLES 10th EDITION

I was privileged to draw something this year at the yearly surf log festival in Figueira da Foz. To be honest, I felt a bit nervous though because I didn’t do anything like this before. Little step outside the comfort zone. The second morning of the event I was having a breakfast with Garry, who was waxing his freshly new longboard. We were having a chat while I was sketching. This octopus popped up as an idea but I wanted to add an extra funny touch to it. I turned to Garry and showed him the drawing, asking what I could write on the score board the octopus is holding. Garry told me: “there’s only one number you can write and it’s an 8”. So it’s a perfect score for an octopus riding the nose. Just brilliant.

After 3 days of drawing, surfing, dancing and making new friends - Figueira Da Foz
